Death is invariably the next moment

No one perceives when it’s arrival time

Inevitable when comes its next moment

Animals can’t contemplate death

Exalted man contemplates death at ease

Conquers inner world attains ever bliss

For him there is no fear of death

    Had a rough past summer. Six emergency trips to hospital then two more for surgeries for my heart. At times I felt my life slipping from me and clung to it and tried to pull it back expressing “I’m not ready yet”. After all, even at 73, there are people that depend on me still being around.

      Hi Carl this is great you had two heart surgeries. I know what it is all about, have experience of one. Your saying “I am not ready yet” so let it get sanctioned Dear.

      Thanks so much for the read and the two lines you liked. It is very interesting to know that Death is always next moment. Sometimes for someone who is ill for months and sometimes years death has not come and near ones expect them to die, so death when it comes it is next moment.

    Was very reluctant to read this one.Death.. the dreaded word always stuns my heart,I feel my heartbeats have momentarily stopped.
    Being the youngest as you might emphathise,can’t see our elders wither away.
    Loss of a near n dear person.. the void can never be filled.
    Beautifully put across…Death… arrival,inevitable n last.. bliss!
    Shiva you are a wonder man.. such feelings in your words,really touched my heart!
    Will look at death now more practically.. I hope so!

    It’s been a rough year and a half for me, as my husband was diagnosed with Cancer last year. After going through surgery and treatments, the Cancer returned again earlier this year. So this post really hits my heart because it’s so true and it’s a reality we must face at some point in our life.

      Yes Etta it is a reality we must face. So sorry about your husband, it is one that makes us keep always our dinner crossed. These days it is curable and many live longer, let us expect for the good always.

      See this post needs to be thought of in its own perspective. See as you have observed, when death comes it doesn’t give any chance it is sudden the very next moment. Take for example a person ailing in bed for months and sometimes years is expected to die but death does not come when it comes it is the next moment. No space given. I hope you understand what I am telling. It is the experience of all.

    “Death is invariably the next moment” We never know what awaits us around the corner. Anything can happen, from moment to moment, from one second to the next. “Exalted man” is at ease with the inevitable, knowing all things are finite and impermanent. These are my thoughts on a delicate topic. Have been at death’s door several times in my life. 🙏
