Your arms like octopusy tentacles

Your arms like octopusy tentacles

Your arms like octopusy tentacles

griped me into your fold.

Unaware of facts of love

stunned to see myself in goosebumps.

Intimacy to the core of fondness

magic of fascination turns into inflorescence.

Eyes locked to unlock chapters

of the love saga in the making.

Deep in the blanket of love

silent inner spirits feel the warmth.

Sudden shift in nature’s attitude turns conducive

music of nature brings pleasure adds essence to the rendezvous.

Two bodies welded to become one

from time zone have gone into timeless.

All senses extract joy and pleasure

bodies yearned and are enthralled.

Devoid of desire to be in earthly realms

eternity be in your arms like octopusy tentacles.

Erika that’s right when all senses merge, a more fascinating thing happens, here it is the ecstasy of LOVE.

Shiva, you have written a passionate poem about love between a man and a
woman and yet I find this line that puzzles me “Devoid of desire to be in earthly realm eternity be in your arms “.
To me both the poem and the images express desire…

Was reminded of Kahlil Gibran on ‘love’ :
‘ But if you love and must needs have desires,
    Let these be your desires,
To melt and be like a running brook that sings
    it’s melody in the night.
To know the pain of too much tenderness. ”

An important poem to us all in a world where desire often is set above deep love.

Miriam it is so good you expressed your feelings about my lines. I am very happy about it and welcome.
Yes, definitely the poem and the images express an extraordinary desire.
When a Man & Woman become one in their desire of expression of love, they reach a point as to never part from each other, in the ecstasy they feel that let this moment be forever. So, let even time not be there, let this be a continuity. When one is in the earthly realm they have to adhere to it’s regulations. Time and Space play the game. Being devoid of desire of Earthly realms they escape from that. That is where they can be in Eternity.
It is the devoid of desire only on that aspect.
All lovers at the peak of their union would desire to be eternal and far from time. 😃
I hope, now you could catch and the puzzle is solved.
Thanks Miriam, now you throw light upon.

Oooh Patty! You always catch me by my neck. 🙄😁
You know it was since long I wanted to write a love poem. Wanted it to be passionate, unique and totally immersed in Love.
Then I thought of it’s ecstasy, you know at that point all lovers feel not to come back, be in it forever or at least for a long, long time. Won’t you think so?

But Patty I have written few love poems on my blog. You can check them on my Poetry Menu. If you want I shall give those links.
      Thanks for nice comment.

I know you have written more poetry in the past, but this on has a different feel to it.
You remind me of a Dutch phrase ‘Still waters have deep grounds’. Meaning; silent (introvert, quite) people possess profound thoughts.
Enjoy your weekend, I will be dancing a three-day festival 🙂

Very beautiful and sensual. I like the initial surprising effect of the title and the first two lines, where my immediate reaction was getting a feeling of oppression, as if choking, because of the “octopussy tentacles” and “griped me”. However, the following two verses change this feeling completely and turn the meaning of the poem into something pleasurable and emotionally intense: “Unaware of facts of love/ stunned to see myself in goosebumps”. At this point the imagery becomes very beautiful. Love this: “Intimacy to the core of fondness/ magic of fascination turns into inflorescence.” The next coming lines suggest a most lovely mixture of carnal and spiritual love at the same time. Great poem!

Marta this is one comment of a kind, very special and to be taken as an example for commenting. Thanks
You know the Joy it brings when the reader tells the feelings that is in it, what the writer intrinsically wants to say.
The Metaphor “Octopussy Tentacles” in the beginning does implies so, which even I sensed it after you told. Hahaha. You know better, poetry is such a creation. One should enjoy the taste to it’s core and it is not everyone’s food for thought. 😃
You end your comment in a befitting manner and I appreciate that.
I am proud many bloggers have honestly commented in brief and in detail on many a Posts of mine.
I deeply indebted and grateful to them and to you too.

Shiva, that is just a beautiful love poem, filled with all compassion and desire for lovers to become one in the physical world. Yet myself I take it as a spiritual message to become ONE with the source of TRUTH, emerging my soul in compassion.

But let me tell you as you have felt it to be a spiritual message to be ONE with the SOURCE, is what I meant to say in the later part of the Poem.
“Emerging My Soul in Compassion” is such a overwhelming statement, which no ordinary person can express. Thanks
