State of Meditation

Posted on Updated on

State of Meditation

Meditation in situ

Eyelids drop curtain
Close screen to mundane world
Ears bidding goodbye to outer sounds
Sounds of silence bloom
Bodily attached thoughts renounce
Habitation of bones, blood and nerves cast away
Skin starts sensualising astronomical cool
Terrestrial body consign to oblivion
Realms of inner being manifest
Ubiquity of bliss felt
Self experiences expansion
Encounters universal presence

Meditation Aftermath

Gradually eyes open
World offers to view
Poetry of creation
Sparkle in eyes result
Mark two red wine glasses
Awareness of joy fails to resign
Reminiscences of worldly ties attract
Mind dwindles in dilemma
Forces into the routine
Habitual actions hence take stroll
Nevertheless mind hankers to
Meditate again and again

Meditation Repeats

Retrospective effects compose
Afterthoughts full of joy
Elated mind permits to act
Darkless light offers bliss
Heart centre blossoms
Personality elevates to spiritual vibrations
Knower of knowledge becomes known
Exaltation to formless state
Showers of benedictions occur
Being silent witness to inner and outer worlds
Thus – the Growth, to receive reverence
One of the One merges into – ‘the One’

I am pleased to share the ‘State of Meditation’ in my own words; I hope you receive it in its right perspective. There are various ways to meditate of which I would not want to elaborate. But I have presented in three classifications, the first one to know how it is and how it influences on the one who meditates, the second is the feeling as to how it influences even after finishing meditation, the third is what actually happens when we meditate regularly and what the results of Meditation actually should be.
I wish and feel, fresh Meditators or those who have begun or who are adepts would take the Best use of the lines as they are the study and years of practice. Ultimately it is that goal to be achieved. Thanks
I have posted this on the eve of New Year 2018 –the 1st Janu 2018.
I WISH ALL MY READERS A VERY HAPPY AND PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR

        Shiva,
You are a philosopher n a poet..one of the rarest n blessed combinations. A everyday ritual so beautifully put across.
For me meditation gave me a kind of different strength,a kind of spiritual calmness (am not much of a spiritual person),a kind of joy!!
You delve deep into the root of your subjects n that fascinates me!!.
Thank you very much for yet another scintillating piece.

I was wanting someone to say something about this and to my surprise every one wishing for the New Year only and going saying no much about it.
But Radhika you tasted the essence of the words, I am grateful. Yes I have certainly experienced the Bliss, only because of that I could write from it’s core.
Actually, to tell you the three states of Meditation is something marvelous to happen in one’s being.
It is the gist of volumes of written material and of discourses one may hear.
Thus no further actions and no further words.😃
      The Ultimate.
I only feel one to take it in proper spirits.

In a way I do, dear Shiva. But I do it while walking with my dog, or while gardening.
I also learned a focusing technique, with has similarities with meditations, but instead of ‘letting go’ at some point, you go a bit ‘deeper’.
However, I thought this post is well written. Forgot to mention it, apologize for that.

Well I do not say that you cannot meditate while walking of gardening, if at all you can do, nothing like that. I only feel you may have to understand what meditation is all about. Going deeper is what one has to achieve.
I only Wish and Feel that YOU meditate and derive the joy out of it.
Patty you love to read my my posts, I love about it.
You see, what is the use of having thousands of followers on one’s blog and no many readers to read, like and comment. I have seen many here like that.

I believe there are different ways to meditate and that it is important to find a way that feels comfortable. To be able to clear my mind, silence the ‘voices’ , create space to be able to listen to my body and thus my inner voice, I need to be in a environment that comforts me.
I do appreciate and are grateful for our connection too, dear Shiva. Good night, XxX

I love your interpretation of meditation, it’s exactly how I feel when I meditate. Something I did often, now life has trapped in the never ending fight for survival. It’s so cold now I don’t want to get our of bed, once I’m up I’m busying myself getting ready for work, in the evenings it starts up again as everyone is waiting for their supper. Back home it seemed I have more time to do the stuff I loved. 5am on the beach, home by 6. Out the door for work by 7pm. Life was simpler then, not bitter cold, no eternal evenings.
But alas I must force myself into the state of meditation again. It feeds the soul!

Etta that’s Fantastic if you have felt so. That is the ultimate of Meditation. Yes life traps and sometimes it is inevitable.
I couldn’t catch up with what you said about your routine now and back home. But you have tasted it in its true perspective, that is the best part.
I feel you can as well grab some time whenever or wherever you want to meditate. There is no end to this fight for the survival, maybe life wants to put us on test and giggles at us in some corner so that we do not see.😋
      Enough is enough Etta.
Everyone has brought their own share of Joy and Sorrow. We just have to hop ahead.
Wishing You Good all the Ways.

Wow Shiva your words are amazing and your description and explanation of what takes place so beautifully expressed. Even if only a few moments of this bliss is achieved it allows so much in. To quiet the mind is such a practice, but one we all should do…the benefits are tremendous!! People can get so bogged down with the idea of meditation and needing to hum mantras and sit cross-legged and have incense burning, etc…too many movies…simply sit, relax and stop the flow of thoughts…which is difficult especially in the beginning. Accept the fact that your mind is going to wander constantly and that what you do is recognize that, and start again, start again, start again…and it’s ok that is the process. Wonderful, wonderful post Shiva!!

Like the fisherman who throws his net wide to catch as many 🐟 as possible, you throw your net on the Post to catch as many words and assimilate them and comment. That is what I love in you. Yes, like the tiger who tastes blood for the first time; even if only a few moments of bliss is achieved it allows so much inside; so true.

People are to first understand what this meditation is all about. Then it should imprint in their minds to act; no looking back thence.

I have completely put all my experiences of Meditation and the extensive study of scriptures and listening to the discourses. Therefore it is presented in three parts to enable readers the flow words.
I only hope it reaches many to get inspired to meditate.
I am delighted by your comment D…

You know by reading it fully and assimilating the words if one starts Meditating, thats enough; he/she would emerge to have been One with the One.
I presented it in the form one should actually attempt. That is why the three parts.
I wanted you to read this as you are in the path and would understand with much ease.

Kamal do you meditate and if yes in the manner of the words and lines.
Explain only if you have the time as it is time for you to sleep. You can as well keep it for tomorrow.

Hahaha it is K Shiva will sleep in sometime as work tomorrow. I do meditate the way u have written but if u concentrate on anything it is a kind of meditation in itself and they say being in the now itself is meditation. What about u, Shiva

The words are my experience of Meditation and those are the words from its core.
Going further on being in the Now is to witness the NOW, then it shall be Meditation or else just concentration.
Concentration is not the goal of Meditation, it should not be.
Rest some other time we shall discuss. Thanks
                  Have nice sleep.

Happy new year Shiva, lovely descriptions you are blessed to have such a practice and altho we all have very different meditation experiences we are hoping for the same result … a pause between our thoughts, contentment and then the bliss!

Meenakshi! You have in short described what I really wanted from the reader. You have drunk it in its proper essence and the intoxication has taken place. You have made my day and have completed one big circle of responses and commentary.
When I published, first I was getting wishes for New Year only and I was disappointed, then came some good comments. I was having misconclusions…OMG!
Yes one can be lost while reading . YES it is a Spiritual Journey one can take. 😃
I am overwhelmed by this comment. THANKS. 🙏

Hello Shiva, my first name is Margit. Thank you for your kind wishes, I gladly wish you the same. I meditate in nature when I hike and am one with the earth. When I become still and listen to the sounds of the wind and the birds while feeling the sun on my skin. I meditate and feel the stress fall off, I’m home and where I belong in those times.
