Nice One! Good and bad are coined by people. what may be good for one may be bad for another. Habits form when there are many repetitions of a certain act. May be voluntary or involuntary. Sometimes at the subconscious level. Anything when practiced for long becomes a habit. Make happiness a habit..today.

This is a great post dear Shiva :D… I liekd when you say that there are two types of Habits; the ‘Good Habit’ and the ‘Bad Habit’. Aristotle say that actions and behaviours in human often entail repetition, ans that a virtue is a good habit, and a vice a bad one. I am paraphrasing, of course. But he made reference to those two types as you did. Also he believed that the Golden mean or balance between two extremes was a virtue. (not too much, not too little, so to speak!) 😉
Have a wonderful week ahead. Love & best wishes 😀

So Aquileana habit forming is a virtue in the first place.
That is what you caught it right and Aristotle endorses it.
Thanks I am glad you have today visited so many of my posts and have liked them. I would have been still more happy if you could have commented on some more. I understand the time factor. Its OK no hassles. You are always welcome here. I was having my dinner when your likes came and was watching a reality show.
Thanks again for the love and best wishes for the coming week which is very necessary for me as the financial ends on the 31st March.🙏
Good Night!🙋

Superb post as always Shiva and Habits are so difficult to break especially when you classified them into Good and Bad, but the sheer willpower and working with assertion definitely works and we can then move on to habits that do not push us down. Good habits are always good and truthful. Great words of inspiration as always. Thanks.

Wow thanks Kamal!
I have only spread the cards to pick and choose as to which one is the King like as in your one of the posts. 😀
Why they are difficult to break is also explained as they are formed with great efforts repeatedly.😂
I think you have not put your like on the post, please do.😃
Your words are inspiration to other readers as always.🙏
Thanks

Oh sorry Shiva sometimes our computer plays tricks on us and thanks for these wonderful words. You too are an inspiration to all of us bloggers. Put up such great words of motivation and yes bad habits are so difficult they are like glue sticks that have to be rubbed with a firm hand to finally come out of this habit and go on a path which is the best.

I loved the title of the post Shiva. They say if do something for 21 days continuously, it becomes a habit. Your post is a timely one, as I have been procrastinating on my daily exercise regimen. Now I know how to make that a habit 🙂
Have a lovely evening!!

Radhika that was so good of you to tell. 21 days is true but when you procrastinate for 4 days you tend to continue it for days and days. We are to check on that and keep a vigil. Sorry for the late response as I am too much held up with this March end devil.

That was very interesting. A habit is something we once did consciously but because of its repetition, we simply do it because it has to get done. Also, things we once liked doing can be a bothering habit when the circumstances around changed and that habit is only done because we started it once. But making it a habit to observe consciously what we do helps to get rid of them before we are worn out by old habits.

Thanks so much Shilpa, you have made my day today. You know when you receive such heart warming comment how one feels. When one can relate oneself to the writing it has served its purpose.
Shauk, Halaat aur Aadat ek se ek par nirbhararth hai. Jaise aap ne kaha shauk se shuru ho kar aadat pad jati hai. Vivek (Dicretion) ko agar jagrut rakhe to ho jata aadat ache se.

Hey Shiva,
great post. Yes, we are habit beings. We should create only good habits to have a great life. But we, people , we must be aware that is not easy to change our habit. It is possible of course, and if you asking me it is necessary .

this is so beautifully explained… hobby vs habit. habit is a compulsive disorder and addiction while hobby is when we indulge in a particular activity as and when the opportunity presents itself… true Shiva there is an extremely fine line between the two… we don’t even know when we cross over and sometimes it may be too late to revert back
